The Benefits of Consistent Facebook Advertising

People love to hate Facebook Ads. No matter what your opinion is on them, they're a helpful tool for marketing your business when used well and I strongly believe every business and organisation would benefit from having some low cost ads running or ready to go when they want to promote themselves online.
Understanding Facebook Ads
Let's start with some basics around advertising language...

Posting on your Facebook page is simply posting on your page and not 'advertising', some people get this mixed up.

In my view, advertising refers to anything paid with an allocated budget assigned to promote it. The term 'organic' refers to anything unpaid.

Organic (unpaid) reach is terribly low and has been declining for years, having 1,000's of page followers does not mean 1,000s of people see every post you share, often it's only in the 100's and most people overestimate their organic social media reach.

Posting more often doesn't always equal reaching more people, often a small number of people are seeing your posts all the time while the majority of your followers barely see them.

Boosting your posts falls under the 'advertising' umbrella however gives you limited options compared to what 'proper' ads look like set up via Facebook's advertising platform, Ads Manager.

You might be asking yourself why pay someone to run ads for your business when you can just hit the Boost button - when you hit the boost button you're letting Facebook make a lot of decisions for you which don't always reflect the nuances of your business and who you're trying to reach, working with someone who knows what they're doing helps prevent you from wasting your ad spend.

For smaller service-based businesses, location targeting (or a lack of it) can be make or break for how effective your ads area and is where most businesses end up wasting their money.

AI tools and default settings don't understand the nuances of the local area and where your business operates.  Many business owners get this part wrong and end up wasting their money.

I want to help you get it right!

One of the key benefits of Facebook Ads is location targeting and the ability to select  very specific audience as narrow as a 1.6km radius if you want a super strong online presence at a 'hyper-local' level.

If you're currently running ads and not sure what locations you're targeting, chances are it could be nationwide, unless you've specified otherwise.
Setting Realistic Exceptions

It can be hard to provide a quantitive ROI figure on brand awareness ads, however every small business owner knows local visibility is critical and that no awareness equals no sales.

The reality is that people are unlikely to contact you or make a purchase immediately after seeing your ad for the first time, this rarely happens.

Advertising is about keeping your business top of mind for if/when people are ready to purchase.

To give an example, is someone is needing property management services they're first going to consider if they know anyone offering this service or they might ask friends or family for recommendations, if not they'll likely go with whoever comes to mind based off previous interactions and advertising they've seen.

If your key competitors have strong brand awareness from consistent advertising and your business does not, then you can't expect someone to choose your business over other business they're more familiar with.
Key benefits of Facebook Ads
  • Reach people not already following your page (therefore potential to increase your followers).
  • Reach people who fit certain location, age, gender or interest-based targeting parameters.
  • Add buttons to your ad encouraging people to take an action, such as visiting your website.

About My Facebook Ads Management Services

There are many types of Facebook Ads however my focus is on Brand Awareness ads for service-based businesses to maximise their reach - that is reaching as many different people as possible within your target audience.

Because people can't do business with you if they don't know your business exists!

For smaller businesses with smaller budgets this is an ideal entry point into advertising to build some momentum and these types of ads are the easiest to set up and understand.

Business owners can work with me on a monthly or quarterly basis.

I also offer a one-off social media ads report for $145+GST for business owners running their own ads that would like an overview of their ad performance and some benchmark metrics in place. If you're spending more than $100/month boosting your posts and aren't sure what you're actually doing this one-off report can be a great help to give you some tips to improve any DIY ad efforts.

Monthly ads management includes a new Facebook Ads campaign each month depending on your content and goals set at a monthly budget. I charge $295+GST/month for this and recommend a monthly budget of at least $100.

Quarterly ads management includes a new Facebook Ads campaign each quarter (every three months) depending on your content and goals set at a quarterly budget. I charge $395+GST/quarter for this and recommend a quarterly budget of at least $200. This service is one of the most cost-effective ways for business to have professional support running brand awareness ads every day of the month.
