LinkedIn doesn't have the same 'cool' factor as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok but in my opinion it's one of the most under-utilised social media platforms. A bit about LinkedIn
LinkedIn is known as the professional social network and most popular for those in the B2B (business to business) space. It's driven by people 'connecting' and engaging with each other. It's not just for job-seekers or recruiters, think of it as online networking platform for anyone looking to connect with other professionals in their industry or in their location. People and Connection If you're like me, you probably find at least half of your new leads come via word or mouth or similar referrals. Your network and 'personal brand' is a huge asset to your business and LinkedIn can help you build and utilise this. LinkedIn offers a way to cultivate and grow your professional network in between any in-person events. It's also an appropriate place to follow, add and message people you meet in a professional context. Engagement on LinkedIn also goes further in extending your reach than engagement on other platforms. Liking a post means that post is likely to show to your existing connections, on the other end of that is when people like your post your potential reach extends to their network as well. Business Pages Even among people that are on LinkedIn and promoting their business on LinkedIn, many don't have an actual business page which surprises me. A business page acts the same ways as a Facebook page, you're able to share posts to your page followers, you can also see stats on your post impressions and post reach. Unlike Facebook, people have their job roles and workplaces listed on their LinkedIn profile, and without a LinkedIn Business Page, this can be a dead end. When you have an active business page, people can click on this and follow it and visit your website so they can learn more about what you do. I have a soft spot for working with LinkedIn Pages because they're so much easier to create and manage than other social platforms. Similar to Facebook pages, there is no seperate login for a LinkedIn Business Page, it's created by and managed by a person (like myself) who can add others to the page.
